I'd suggest brushing it out well before using this, to remove any tangles or knots, so the trimmer can glide smoothly. My hair is severely damaged from bleach, and it still worked well for me.

This is totally what I expected. I split my hair into sections and passed the trimmer about three times over each strand to catch every split end. I'd recommend straightening your hair first so it glides faster — a few drops of argan oil help too. Very happy with this purchase.

How To Use Your Trimmer
Five minutes of prep and a few careful passes is all it takes to get salon-smooth results.
- 1 After washing your hair, let it dry completely, then comb it through gently — avoid pulling or tugging on any knots.
- 2 Make sure your hair is fully clean before you begin. This device only trims the very ends of the hair, not the overall length.
Important: unwashed hair tends to stick together, which causes an uneven trim. Always start with clean, dry hair.
- 1 Fully charge the device before first use. Red light — charging Green light — fully charged
- 2 Slide the ON/OFF switch on the back of the device upward to turn it on. The blue care light will turn on, along with the battery indicator. Green — battery is good Flashing red — time to recharge
- 3 Straighten a small section of hair, feed it gently into the device, and close it. The trimmer will glide slowly down the strand, smoothing and trimming split ends as it goes.
- 4 Repeat step 3 section by section until you've worked through all of your hair. If the collection compartment fills up, open the transparent cover and empty out the trimmed ends.
